Raymond Fung

A renowned painter and architect, Raymond Fung has laid achievements in the arts and social development through both his architectural designs and devotion towards the Chinese ink painting movement in Hong Kong. His paintings sketch the most natural faces of the Hong Kong scenery, reflective of his heartfelt passion for this city. While generating the spirit of traditional aesthetics, they embody a “contemporary” spatial expression indebted to his architectural training.

Raymond Fung Wing Kee was born in Hong Kong in 1952. After receiving his professional degree in architecture in the US, he furthered his art studies in the extra-mural programmes in Hong Kong University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the China National Academy of Art and the Central Academy of Art.

Having participated in over 70 major exhibitions, he has gained many honors including: the 1990 Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects President’s Prize, Arch S D Annual Awards, the Hong Kong Biennial Exhibitions, the National Art Exhibitions and the Vermont Studio Fellowship. He is a founder member of the Ink Movement and presently executive members of the Hong Kong Designers’ Association and the Hong Kong Artists’ Association.
